Broadband Nation Expo key topics
The Future of Fiber
Fiber will inevitably play a central role in connecting communities. The technology is reliable, proven and user experience is usually positive. However, as an industry, we must work together to find creative ways to work together to drive down the cost per pass in remote areas, ensure networks are future-proofed to avoid future cost, and together drive fiber adoption across the United States.
Connecting Everyone
Connecting Everyone is the basis of Broadband Nation. Everything we do and talk about has a common goal – giving our peers, communities and partners equitable and fair access to the digital economy. Digital equity is undoubtedly a marker for success, and our industry in particular plays a central role in not only reaching everyone, but providing them with a service and the tools to succeed.
Wireless Innovation
Wireless technology is a fundamental piece of the puzzle in our efforts to connect the unconnected and underserved. Fixed Wireless Access is proving a valuable tool for carriers to expand their footprint, and the QoS looks to hold up with customers. Additionally, mmWave and virtualization are driving the cost of connections down and bringing fast and affordable networks to many. Together with fiber, satellites and all access technologies, wireless can deliver connectivity for all, but at what cost?
Workforce Development
As broadband deployments ramp up across the United States, we face a documented shortage of skilled labor to fulfill planned deployments across the country. With as many as 200k broadband jobs available, we face the challenge to make broadband front of mind with young professionals of all backgrounds.
Broadband Infrastructure & Economics
Private markets will be used to drive investment in uncertain times as we move forward in the mission to connect everything. Fiber is playing a central role in connecting communities, but how can fiber be made into an even more attractive investment for private investors?
