Analyst: Nokia's Lumia smartphones struggle to crack Chinese market

Nokia's new Windows Phone Lumia smartphones have struggled to boost the company's market share in China, while domestic vendors ZTE, Huawei and Lenovo overtook Apple in smartphone shipments in the second quarter, according to a new study conducted by research firm Canalys. The domestic Chinese vendors made up 60 per cent of the Chinese smartphone market in the second quarter, the research firm said. Nokia, however, saw its shipments in China drop by 47 per cent year-over-year. Nokia partnered in April with China Telecom to deliver the CDMA-capable Lumia 800C, which went on sale for around €426 without a contract. Release
