Germany-headquartered testing firm Comprion has emerged victorious in a tender to supply equipment to China Mobile for NFC device qualification.
The firm is supplying two platforms comprising network and smart card simulators, LTE compatibility, UICC interfaces, and NFC technology protocol and application tests. China Mobile, the world’s largest cellco by subscribers, is using the equipment to test NFC handsets in-house, after launching NFC services in June.
China Mobile’s move comes as operators in Hong Kong step up their mobile payment efforts, announcing a slew of partnerships with banks, and launching payment apps for leading smartphones.
