A device the size of a mobile phone is offering relief for people who stutter when they speak.
Researchers at the University of Mississippi in the US have applied for a patent for the prosthetic device, which offers tactile feedback to people who stutter. That feedback helps reduce the frequency of stutters -- a factor discovered by one of the research team when he placed his hand on his throat while talking.
A US firm, Hyperion Technology Group, has licensed the technology with a view to launching a commercial product.
