New chip counters mobile phone radiation‾

Belgian health product manufacturer Omega Pharma has developed a chip which the company claims can counter the effects of radiation from mobile phones.

The company claims the chip can lessen symptoms that may be associated with exposure to the radiation emitted with mobile phones, including loss of concentration and headaches. The chip is also able to eliminate the body heating effect produced by electromagnetic radiation.

The chips launched yesterday, for a price of 38.95 euros ($50). 30,000 are available, but the company is easily able to ramp up production, Omega's CEO Marc Coucke told Reuters.

The effects of the radiation emitted by mobile phones on humans, if any, has never been conclusively proven, and scientists are divided on the issue.
