T-Mobile UK is to sell an Android-based tablet device later this year, supplied by Innovative Converged Devices (ICD). The Vega “family hub”, a 15" touchscreen device is a full-featured tablet with Wi-Fi, on-demand TV, access to social networks, video chat and games, as well as an FM radio. The concept is in the final stages of development by T-Mobile UK and ICD.
Vodafone UK has refused to stock Sony Ericsson's new flagship Windows Mobile handset, the Xperia X2, due to extended delays from the vendor.
Vodafone was due to have UK exclusivity on the handset that runs Windows Mobile 6.5, which was due to launch in October 2009. Sony Ericsson confirmed that the delivery date had slipped "due to extended testing".

T-Mobile USA will stop selling its home internet phone service, ending a near two-year attempt to enter the landline market. The service is priced at $10 to $15 per month for T-Mobile wireless subscribers, who plug their home phones into an adapter that shuttles calls through a home broadband connection. In October, Verizon Wireless ended sales of a similar product, the Hub, after less than a year on the market.

Motorola has unveiled its second Android-powered smartphone, the Motorola Backflip. The Backflip supports Android version 1.5 (upgradable to version 2.x) and will be launched in Asia, North America, Latin America and Europe in Q1. Pricing details are not yet available. Based on GSM/W-CDMA technology, the device supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and has a touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a 3.1-inch screen.
