Cloud, AI revenue jumps 31% in SoftBank Corp's fiscal Q1

Japanese operator SoftBank Corp. reported strong Q1 results, with consolidated revenue up 9% year on year to about $11.5 billion (1,814.7 billion JPY). Net income increased 7% to $952.5 billion (150.1 billion JPY). 

Consumer segment growth came in at 4%. Enterprise growth was stronger at 11%, driven by 31% revenue growth from AI computing infrastructure and other services classified as Cloud & AI.

“We expect this compound annual growth rate of 30% for Cloud & AI will continue,” CEO Junichi Miyakawa said.

Miyakawa talked up the formation of SB Neo, a neocloud business SoftBank Corp. is launching alongside SoftBank Group. He noted SB Neo’s business will utilize the SoftBank Group’s infrastructure, and expand in phases while maintaining financial soundness. He also said the company is aiming to launch Infrinia AI Cloud OS services—software for AI data centers already available in Japan in beta form—in FY2027.
