Ex-AWS exec Adam Selipsky resurfaces at PE firm KKR

Little more than a year after stepping down as CEO of AWS, Adam Selipsky has resurfaced with an appointment as Senior Technology and AI Strategy Advisor at private equity firm KKR.

In his new role, Selipsky will help guide KKR’s $179 billion global digital infrastructure platform as the firm accelerates investments in the next generation of AI, data centers and energy. Specifically, he will advise on strategy, capital allocation and governance, with a particular focus on the convergence of compute, data centers, fiber and energy required to scale AI globally. 

KKR has already committed approximately $42 billion of equity into digital infrastructure across 23 investments, alongside more than $20 billion in power and renewables. Its portfolio includes investments in communications and IT companies such as CyrusOne, Jio Platforms Limited, MetroNet Fiber, Telenor Fiber, Cloudera and Vantage Towers.
