- The new offering integrates data storage, management, resource orchestration, and AI toolchains
- The platform leverages multiple flagship storage systems to support demanding AI workflows
- The solution underscores Huawei’s continued investment in vertical AI infrastructure
Huawei today unveiled its new AI Data Lake Solution during the 4th Innovative Data Infrastructure (IDI) Forum in Munich, positioning the platform as a foundational step for enterprises scaling AI workloads across sectors.
The new offering integrates data storage, management, resource orchestration, and AI toolchains to create a high-quality AI corpus — streamlining model training and inference in production environments.
The platform leverages multiple flagship storage systems to support demanding AI workflows:
- OceanStor A Series delivers high-performance AI storage, used by customers like iFLYTEK to significantly cut training times while enhancing inference speed and reducing latency.
- OceanStor Pacific All-Flash provides exabyte-scale storage at 4 PB/2U and 0.25 W/TB, addressing data-intensive needs in sectors such as scientific research and healthcare.
- OceanProtect Backup Storage offers 10x faster backup speeds and 99.99% ransomware detection, protecting vector databases and AI training corpora.
Huawei’s Data Management Engine (DME) and Omni-Dataverse architecture eliminate data silos across dispersed environments. DME supports fast indexing of over 100 billion files — accelerating data processing and retrieval.
Resource management is handled by Huawei’s DCS platform, which pools diverse xPUs and uses intelligent scheduling to maximize compute efficiency. AI Copilot in DataMaster supports operations with capabilities like smart Q&A and automated inspections.
The solution underscores Huawei’s continued investment in vertical AI infrastructure, following recent launches in aviation and cement production. With this release, the company is targeting industries under pressure to operationalize large AI models and manage rapidly growing unstructured datasets.
The AI Data Lake is available globally and is expected to play a key role in Huawei’s cloud and AI strategy, particularly in regions pursuing sovereign AI initiatives or massive public-sector digitization.
