Microsoft commits $10B to Middle East cloud and AI infrastructure

Microsoft plans to invest more than $10 billion in cloud and AI infrastructure across the Middle East by 2030, anchoring a broader push to support digital transformation in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The company said the capital and operating expense commitment will expand regional cloud capacity, launch new capabilities and support long-term infrastructure development as Middle Eastern governments pursue large-scale AI strategies. Microsoft framed the investment as part of a new regional framework focused initially on four Gulf markets where national AI programs and sovereign-cloud requirements are accelerating demand for localized infrastructure.

Microsoft said it will deepen partnerships with governments and national AI organizations, including HUMAIN, G42, QAI and the Government of Kuwait, while supporting initiatives such as Saudi Arabia’s ALLaM, Qatar’s TASMU, the UAE’s TAMM and Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption in Kuwait. The company said the work will include responsible AI adoption, sovereign-ready cloud services, Arabic and multilingual AI and improved digital public services.
