Why Legacy Cloud Architecture Is Holding You Back

Composable infrastructure is changing how cloud services are built and deployed. Rather than treating compute, storage, and networking as siloed resources, this model treats them as modular, interchangeable components like ingredients in a recipe. Enterprises can mix and match pre-built cloud templates from an open-source marketplace, accelerating innovation and deployment without reinventing the stack each time.

From healthcare to financial services and manufacturing, businesses are harnessing composable infrastructure to fast-track AI adoption and unlock operational intelligence. Whether it's fast-tracking credit decisions, improving patient outcomes, or optimizing production lines, the goal is the same: deploy faster, remain secure, and maintain full control over data. By ensuring compliance and enabling hybrid multi-cloud setups, composable infrastructures empower organizations to build smarter, more secure systems at scale.

Kevin Cochrane:

Composable infrastructure basically means that all resources are fungible and interchangeable. A resource is a resource. It should be fully atomic, fully modular, fully discoverable, fully orchestratable. This is what we do on a worldwide basis with all of our compute, all of our storage, all of our networking, and all of our ancillary services that help you complete your cloud Slack. Think about a Composable Stack, it's like a recipe. You can actually look in the cookbook, you can find the right recipe, and then you can follow the recipe and then just quickly make a great meal. What we envision is having a vibrant marketplace where we can provide examples of precomposed cloud Stacks and make the Composable Template to deliver that cloud Stack available to everyone in an open source model. But also we can have third parties contribute to those. Those could be individual developers, those could be systems integrated, that can be a digital agency.

It really just needs to be a vibrant marketplace of open source Composable Templates that basically enable people to rapidly discover all of the examples that they can follow, and essentially take that recipe and use that as a starting point for their own initiative. People are moving very fast towards deploying new agents to support both internal and external processes very quickly. They're looking to finally leverage and harness all of their operational data to start empowering new agents to improve employee productivity and improve their customer experience. The three big industries that are moving the fastest are healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing. In the healthcare arena, it's all about discovering novel therapies and improving patient outcomes.

In manufacturing, it's all about optimizing the entire manufacturing process. Financial services, it's all about leveraging the vast treasure trove of data that financial services companies have in order to speed up processes from credit analysis to loan origination, and again, to improve customer experience and de-risk the business. What we do here at Vultr is make sure that we have the highest degree of support for all of your core compliance controls that support for hybrid multi-cloud deployment where you are in control of your data and your data never leaves your networks and is never exposed over the public internet. This is critical for AI workloads, making sure that it's safe and secure and you're in full control of it, and it's only used for your benefit and the benefits of your end customers. The Composable revolution is real, and it starts here at Vultr.
