Nokia sets PS-LTE sights on South Korea

While Nokia Networks (NYSE:NOK) has expanded its LTE network in a box (NIB) solution for the United States, it's also working to gain public safety business in other countries like South Korea. The Finnish company this week said it wants more partnerships with small and medium enterprises in the South Korean public safety network business. The country may well be the first to introduce a nationwide public safety LTE (PS-LTE) system, The Korea Times reports.

"As several countries, such as the United States and Britain, are pushing for the PS-LTE establishment, we believe that Korea will be the first in this, considering the strong commitment both by the government and the industry," Nokia Networks Korea Mobile Broadband Solutions head Kwon Yong-seok said during a press meeting at the company's office in Seoul.
