In his new role as president, Neiderman will continue to oversee the service provider's sales, customer service and network operations team.
As Salame takes his place on the company's board, Donn Wilson has resigned to pursue another business opportunity.
Salame is the former CEO and chairman of hosted call center provider Contactual, which 8x8 purchased in September 2011. When 8x8 bought Contactual, Salame served as the chairman of Contactual's board of directors and up until 2010 as Contactual's chairman and CEO.
The appointment of Salame, one of the early proponents of the 'virtual call center' concept, to the board of directors, along with the acquisition of Contactual is significant in that it will help 8x8 shape its vision of IP-based call center services for its customer base.
