Alpheus boosts sales power with Cbeyond veteran Matt Milliron

Alpheus Communications on Wednesday added another element to its growing sales efforts, naming Matt Milliron as its new senior vice president of Enterprise and Channel Sales.

His new duties at Alpheus include growing and further developing the CLEC's direct and indirect sales.

Milliron brings plenty of experience in selling telecom products in the DASH (Dallas-Austin-San Antonio-Houston) market, having led sales for Cbeyond and more recently at Airband Communications.

This appointment comes at a time when Alpheus is enhancing its service and network reach throughout the area. Last year, the service provider announced a $10 million effort to expand its fiber network and employee base.

Alpheus has been expanding its network through a series of organic and inorganic initiatives. Last month, it announced that it expanded its fiber network to a number of new buildings in downtown Houston, furthering its on-net footprint.

Complementing its own network buildout initiatives, the service provider has been active on the acquisition front, buying Houston-based data center service provider Net Star Telecommunications in December.

One of the key products of this expansion drive is Ethernet. Leveraging a mix of fiber and copper, the service provider's Ethernet footprint serves over 94,000 buildings.
