Bush: No compromise on telco immunity

President Bush told reporters while aboard Air Force One that there is no possibility of compromise on the issue of telco immunity for a new Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act. He pushed for House Democrats to get with the program and align with their Republican counterparts to approve a bill matching the one that passed in the Senate with telco immunity included. Some Democrats reportedly have been discussing how to develop legislation with some kind compromise on the immunity issue, though Republicans have refused take part in those talks.

None of this is really surprising, given the actions, threats and promises that led us to this point have been choreographed for some time--I just thought the whole thing was worth mentioning because Bush gave his comments while on Air Force One, which seems very "West Wing"-ish. No word on whether it was airborne at the time or just parked somewhere.
