Cbeyond achieves SSAE 16 certification for Louisville, Ky. data center

Cbeyond, a competitive provider catering to the SMB market with a host of managed and cloud services, has gained Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 Type ll SOC 2 certification for its Louisville, Ky. data center.

Dubbed the second-generation data center audit standard, SSAE 16 SOC 2 reviews evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of a center's controls against a strict series of international standards. The SSAE 16 SOC 2 reports replaced SAS 70 Type II as the benchmark compliance report for organizations impacted by privacy and security regulations such as HIPAA, PCI and SOX.

By gaining SSAE 16 certification Cbeyond's cloud services are now compliant with all necessary security and privacy specifications. In addition, Cbeyond has full insight into the people and procedures it uses to control its data center operations.

Given the growing competitiveness of the cloud and managed service market segment, Cbeyond can use this latest certification as another level of differentiation for not only its existing domestic and international SMB customer base, but also as a way to attract other SMBs that are looking for an alternative cloud provider.
