Frontier taps Verizon vet Boston as VP of sales, retention

Frontier has named former Verizon executive Victoria Boston as its new VP of sales and retention, marking yet another high-profile hire from the telco in the past two weeks.

Boston’s appointment comes not long after Frontier named fellow Verizon colleague Chris Levendos to head up Frontier’s field operations.

Based in Southern California, Boston will report to Cecilia McKenney, EVP of consumer sales and marketing.

In her new role, Boston will lead sales and retention teams in 29 states with responsibility for customer service, acquisition, retention and growth initiatives.

Boston brings plenty of experience to her role at Frontier. During her 25-year career at Verizon Communications, Boston held executive roles leading sales, retention and enterprise solutions teams. She became known for her work in leading large, high-performing customer service centers and has extensive knowledge of the Fios product suite. The Fios experience will come in handy as Frontier enhances its offerings in the California, Texas and Florida (CTF) regions and other markets where Frontier offers the service.

Following a challenging integration process of the Verizon CTF properties into its own fold, her appointment comes at a time when Frontier is looking for ways to get back to positive broadband growth.

During the first quarter, Frontier lost a total of 102,000 broadband subscribers. The telco said the decline was related to customers coming off of pricing promotions.

Boston will be able to apply her knowledge of Verizon’s Fios and other broadband products to help the service provider reach its goal to attract stickier customers that purchase higher priced service bundles.
