Dan Moffat has decided to step down from his role as GTA TeleGuam's President and CEO due to family health issues in mainland United States.
Taking over the day-to-day leadership of GTA TeleGuam before Moffat's official resignation date in September is Guam native Andrew Gayle, who has taken up the newly created COO role.
Among Moffat's many accomplishments over the past four years as President and CEO of GTA TeleGuam was the transfer of ownership from Shamrock Capital Advisors to funds served by Advantage Partners LLP, a global private equity investment firm based in Tokyo.
"Dan was instrumental in the successful transfer of ownership and transition process," said Richard L. Folsom, representative partner at Advantage Partners in a statement.
In addition to helping transferring company ownership, Moffat, who joined GTA TeleGuam two years after it became a private company 2007 helped drive the telco's move into new service areas including broadband, IPTV and wireless.
Prior to joining GTA TeleGuam, Moffat is probably best known in the telecom industry as the co-founder and president of New Edge Network, which was acquired by EarthLink in 2005.
GTA TeleGuam has not revealed a timeline on when it will begin a search for a new president and CEO.
