Independent telco Windstream Communications announced earlier this week that it will eliminate 120 jobs from its Concord, N.C., call center in February. Making the announcement a week before Christmas will no doubt earn Windstream plenty of Scrooge and Grinch comparisons, though it has been well known that Windstream recently has been conducting a call center integration project following its acquisition of Concord-based fellow telco CT Communications last summer. This is the second round of lay-offs Windstream has announced since the deal closed.
