Windstream continues to make progress in building the management team of its Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), naming a new general counsel and president of investor relations.
Daniel Heard, who currently serves as a partner in the Little Rock law offices of Kutak Rock LLP, will take his new general-counsel position on April 1.
He comes to CS&L with over 15 years' experience in negotiating, structuring and consummating mergers and acquisitions, public offerings of debt and equity securities and other corporate finance transactions.
During his tenure at Kutak Rock, Heard represented public companies in corporate, securities and merger-and-acquisition transactions across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, information technology and food processing.
Taking the role of treasurer and VP of investor relations is Cbeyond's former SVP of finance, Rob Clancy. At Cbeyond, Clancy oversaw a number of key financial issues, including treasury, investor relations and financial planning.
Interestingly, Clancy is a former Windstream staffer, having served as the company's VP and treasurer, where he had responsibility for the company's treasury and capital market functions, investor relations, corporate communications and risk-management groups. Clancy came to Windstream with the spinoff from Alltel, where he served as vice president of investor relations in addition to holding a variety of other management positions.
Heard and Clancy will both report directly to CS&L's recently appointed president and CEO, Kenny Gunderman. Similar to Heard and Clancy, Gunderman also brought a wide range of financial and corporate experience from his most recent role at Stephens Inc., where he served as executive vice president and co-head of investment banking.
