Amdocs nabbed a 10-year agreement with global digital operator VEON that includes running and modernizing VEON’s core technology operations. The deal also allows Amdocs to integrate some of VEON’s QazCode tech into its aOS agentic operating system for telcos.
With aOS, Amdocs will help transform VEON’s operations, customer experiences and digital services through verticalized, telco-specific AI, advancing its evolution toward intelligent agentic autonomy. VEON (formerly known as VimpelCom Ltd.) is a multinational telecommunications and digital services company with headquarters in Dubai. It operates operates in Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
“VEON’s trust in Amdocs to lead this journey reflects our shared ambition to shape the next era of the digital operator. This agreement also expands Amdocs’ presence in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the wider Eurasia region, where we see significant opportunity,” said Anthony Goonetilleke, group president, New Growth Horizons, at Amdocs, in a press release about the deal.
What is QazCode?
QazCode, an AI company, is part of VEON and a digital partner of Beeline Kazakhstan. Info from Amdocs says that the company has “over 750 employees with eight years of experience in software development for the telecom and IT markets with a deep understanding of business and technology.”
QazCode’s portfolio includes the development of private large language models (LLMs) with a focus on “data security, process optimization through Agile methodologies, full-cycle implementation of BSS, and IT outsourcing for product development, team expansion, and project management to help accelerate time to market.” It operates in Central Asia, Europe and the Middle East, is moving into new markets.
What is the Amdocs aOS?
Amdocs rolled out its aOS platform in February 2026 at the same time as it named a new president and CEO, Shimie Hortig. The aOS solution aims to address telcos’ aging OSS/BSS systems, which have always been a major pain point. With an agentic OS solution, Amdocs is hoping to help their customers deliver ROI on their AI investments.
Fierce reached out to Amdocs with questions about the deal. We will update the story when we hear back.
