Comcast’s Xfinity Mobile launches new price plans

  • Xfinity Mobile is ditching multi-line discounts, charging the same amount per line
  • The two new plans – Mobile Plus and Mobile Select – replace Xfinity’s prior mobile pricing
  • Xfinity says it's making wireless simpler and more affordable

Comcast unveiled two new Xfinity Mobile price plans, but they come with a surprising twist. Instead of offering cheaper pricing for more lines, Xfinity Mobile is keeping the price the same, regardless of how many lines are on the account.

The Mobile Plus is $45/month, per line for unlimited talk, text and data. It’s what Comcast describes as a “first of its kind premium plan” that includes Lifetime Device Protection for phones, tablets and smartwatches in case of damage, loss or theft.

Device protection was historically offered as an optional, time-of-purchase add-on with ongoing monthly fees, but they’re now including it with Mobile Plus for both Xfinity-purchased devices and BYOD.

The Mobile Select plan is $30/month, per line. It’s a basic plan for customers “who want essential features they use most,” including unlimited data and high-def video streaming.

Both plans include Global Travel Pass, enabling customers to roam across more than 215 networks internationally without having to purchase separate add-ons.

The two new plans replace Comcast’s existing mobile plans. But customers are still eligible for the Xfinity promotional offer of a free line for a year with Mobile Select, and if customers want to upgrade to Mobile Plus, it’s $15 per month. All new customers are eligible for this discount, and existing Xfinity customers who don’t have a mobile line also qualify, a spokesperson said.

Xfinity Mobile uses Verizon’s network for cellular coverage and Comcast’s own Wi-Fi network of more than 23 million hotspots across the U.S. The new price plans include “Wi-Fi PowerBoost,” which provides speeds of up to 1 Gig when connected to Xfinity Wi-Fi.

According to Comcast, customers who switch from one of the Big 3 wireless carriers can save up to 50% on their monthly bill. But you can only get the Xfinity Mobile service if you’re an Xfinity Internet customer, so there’s that.

Comcast ads blast “MegaMobile”

On the advertising front, Comcast earlier this month launched a new ad campaign, dubbed MegaMobile, starring actor Nick Kroll. One ad features a fictional telecom company where the executives boo when they hear the bad news that “Xfinity is now half our price,” plus “they’re giving people a mobile line free for a year.”

Another ad shows the same telecom company execs looking at a chart where fixed wireless speeds slow down when more people are on the network. “It doesn’t work that way on Xfinity,” one of the characters says.

“They’ve done this sort of thing before but they’re painting the top wireless carriers as being self-satisfied and not really caring about the customer, just caring about making money,” Jeff Moore, principal at Wave7 Research, told Fierce.

Whether it’s the pricing or the marketing or both, Comcast is successfully stealing market share from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Analysts at MoffettNathanson estimate cable companies captured 14.5% of industry postpaid phone gross additions in Q4 2025, about the same as the prior year.

Comcast reported its best ever year for U.S. wireless growth last year, with 1.5 million net line additions, ending 2025 with about 9.3 million total wireless customers.
