Congress approves $7.2 billion for broadband

The Senate on Friday night voted to approve the $787 billion economic stimulus plan, including $7.2 billion for broadband expansion, which is to be split and directed toward under-served and rural markets. Wireless service providers, especially Verizon, did not receive tax credits for broadband buildout efforts. Article
