top european smartphonesThe smartphone market worldwide is booming. Indeed, the space grew 78 percent in the third quarter, according to research firm Strategy Analytics. However, the market in Europe has some key differences from that of the United States. Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and Sony Ericsson have stronger followings, though the Symbian platform has taken a hit from Google's Android platform, which is being pushed by a number of vendors, including HTC and Samsung. Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) is still strong, though Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is rapidly becoming a powerhouse.
